December Third

from Another Winter by Justin Cross

/

lyrics

I was born on the third of December
And I, I was friends with the wind and cold
I listened in as the men in the shadows
Sang "how long must we wait oh Lord?"

I found some hope in the arms of a lover and
I saw a compass in the brown of her eyes
She moved around like the wind takes a ribbon
Towards the January sky

And, ooh, I was torn in two
The sky was blue
Now it's grey and used

I always love it when my mother sang that melody and
I heard my lover sing the same old song
I tried to catch on but it fell flat in front of me
And now those words are gone

So i tried finding new ways of saying things that
Someone else said a lifetime ago
But the echos of the past only resonate
What everybody knows

Ooh, I was torn in two
The sky was blue
Now it's grey and used

I found that life is like the changing of the seasons and
Sometimes the warm mingles in with the cold
But I can still hear the men in the shadows sing, "how long must we wait, oh Lord?"

Ooh, the sky will tear in two
All we used will be made brand new
